Our Jelly Bears room is for our younger 3 year-olds, it provides a room which enables them to develop the necessary tools for room changes and transitions - while gaining skills and attributes ready for their big move to our pre-school room 'Jelly Beans'.

Jelly Bears is all about promoting readiness and developing those essential skills - so natural resources are used both inside and in our garden to promote curiosity, exploration and simulation in our environments. Bears have a relatively large room that backs onto the garden, and promotes choice.

In this room we start to introduce more structure into our routine that is specially designed for the bears age group and attention span levels - offering a balance of free play and activities with plan and direct help and supervision, this enables independence and confidence to grow through intervention and choice.

Our curriculum is based on our own childcare best practices and is underpinned by the Department for Education's framework for children under five, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Within this age range the children will begin to play alongside others, develop friendships and relationships with others and begin planning, observing and talking about play in constructive ways. Implementation of the areas of learning with their allocated areas with help children to develop their understanding ready for the pre-school room and beyond!
